It is difficult not to agree with the opinion of a person who speaks about the subtleties of a profession in which he himself has reached unprecedented heights... Pearls are an organic mineral formed as a result of a foreign body entering the shell of a mollusk, which it tries to get rid of by covering it with mother – of-pearl layer by layer.

It is believed that pearls were one of the first precious stones discovered by ancient man. And people liked this discovery so much that until the middle of the XIX century, pearls were constantly displayed in precious jewelry, engagement rings and on the clothes of privileged persons, but then the fashion for it subsided slightly... However, not for long, and already in the 20s of the XX century pearls were again at the peak of popularity thanks to the impeccable taste of Gabrielle Chanel.

It was Coco who revived the fashion for pearls in the XX century. After her, first the resort of Deauville, then Bohemian Paris, and then the whole world began to wear pearl beads. The designer assured that this decoration can refresh any outfit.

In her image, in addition to pearl beads, she could add several chains and a large colored brooch, which in her time not every woman dared to do, since "putting on all the best at the same time" (that is, wearing a lot of jewelry) was not accepted in society.

Moreover, the shape of the pearls itself was transformed – from a perfectly round shape, it moved to a Baroque, whimsical, uneven one.

Baroque – a common name for pearls that have an irregular shape. Baroque pearls can be teardrop-shaped, cylindrical, or even have abstract outlines. The most intricate of them, which resemble distorted silhouettes of animals, plants, and natural phenomena, are called paragons.

Baroque pearls are exclusive, there are no pairs of minerals in the world that are absolutely identical in shape, size and shade.

The color scheme of Baroque pearls is diverse: from mother-of-pearl pink, silver shades to gold and even terracotta tones.

Surprisingly, non-spherical pearls were once rejected by manufacturers as not meeting the standard. However, in the XXI century, it was the center of attention of designers.
